What’s new at the Autodream Group. Lots
actually and there’s never a routine day here. We’ve got lots
of projects on the go and that’s what it’s all about! The list is
always changing but I’ll mention what is in the works in our
shop……two 1964 Impala rag tops, 1969 GTO, 1967 Mustang, 1999
Mustang, 1966 Ford Fairlane, 1964 Galaxie, 1929 Graham Paige, 1939
COE Ford transport truck, 1971 Duster, 1972 Challenger, 1970
Challenger, 1969 Camaro, two Jeeps, VW Thing, 1966 Thunderbird, 1977
Corvette, 1950 Willy’s Jeepster, 1965 Riviera………….and the list goes
on. Stop by and see for yourself. We’re proud to show people
what we do!
The Autodream Group also had an
interesting opportunity last month. On November 30 we were pleased
to host the folks from Pro-Spray European Automotive Finishes, TGF
Bumper & Fender Paint Body Shop Supplies as well as Pro Body Parts.
The event was an opportunity for Tim Gray, National Sales
Manager/Pro-Spray Canada, Bill Warner / Manager of Technical
Training and Gary Thompson Technical Sales Representative to
showcase techniques and procedures for this fine line of automotive
refinishing products. Of course Pro-Spray is the product of choice
at The Autodream Group and we receive our product by way of TGF
Bumper & Fender/ Pro Body Parts. Shana Couture, branch manager for
TGF Bumper & Fender, was able to put together a professional hybrid
group of sales reps and other staff members to receive updated
product information and application technique training. They also
had a chance to gain some hands on experience in the paint booth to
better understand how Pro-Sprays products are applied properly and
visually see the products amazing results and performance.
I personally sat in on the product
reviews and information session delivered by Bill Warner and found
it to be very informative. Technology has come a long way and there
have been some changes that have impacted the automotive refinishing
business. As in many areas these days, environmental impact
and employee health is very important. The biggest change for our
industry was the switch to low VOC waterborne products. New
regulations in June 2010 mandated only VOC Compliant products could
be sold for use in Canada. VOC is an acronym for Volatile
Organic Compounds and those are the
ingredient(solvents/hardeners/ancillary products) which make the
refinish products perform. Pro-Spray is a leader in these
refinish products and understands proper application is one of the
keys to successful results.
Products are designed to be used under
specific guide lines and conditions. They are not meant to be mixed
with different brands and proper equipment is required . Also,
the instructions and Technical Data Sheets (TDS) are meant to be
followed. It saves time and money, especially in an industry
where mistakes can not be “just touched up”. Many hours of labour go
into a good automotive finish and short cuts don’t pay. It
also stands to reason that when a problem does arise, working
backwards through the listed procedures will help identify where the
issue began. Lots of research and development goes into the
products we use today so take advantage of that.
The TEAM at The Autodream Group
appreciate the support and effort we receive from Pro-Spray and our
supplier TGF Bumper & Fender. They help us stay in the loop with the
latest technical innovations and their industry professionals are
available when we have questions or require assistance. We’re
choosy when we pick our suppliers and our results show why!
